We launch new 24/7 support service for tenants across our 30,000 homes

Today we’ve launched a service which will provide tenants in our 30,000 homes with 24/7 support.

We are partnering with an organisation called Life and Progress on the new programme which will give all our tenants access to everything from telephone counselling to financial advice and help dealing with domestic abuse via a confidential freephone helpline and website portal.

The Tenant Support and Wellbeing Service is thought to be the first service of its kind in the housing sector.

Our Chief Executive, Kevin Rodgers, said the Tenant Support and Wellbeing Service is a mark of where the organisation is heading.

“We are delighted to be able to launch this new service which will provide crucial advice and support 24/7 for our tenants.”

“When you need help with your health, finances or other personal matters you want support straight away and that is what the Tenant Support and Wellbeing Service does.

“While developing our support services is a key priority for us we have to recognise that there are some services which are more effectively provided by other organisations.

“Working with Life and Progress, an organisation which has the economies of scale and facilities to be able to provide 24/7 support, we will be able to offer all of our tenants the facility to access crucial help and advice which is independent and confidential.

“Our research has shown that it is this kind of support that can make a crucial difference in our tenants’ lives and help them to sustain their tenancies.

“We believe this is the kind of support housing associations can and should offer and we think this is a sustainable model that the sector can follow.”
