Energy efficient high-tech homes handed over to customers
Energy efficient homes have been handed over to our customers at Cheltenham Croft in Coventry.
The homes in Walsgrave are fitted with Mitsubishi air source heat pumps and customers are also able to use an app to control the water heating in their home.
Air source heat pumps work by taking the heat from the air outside and transforming it into a fluid refrigerant. The temperature of this is then raised and the heat is transferred to the central heating system.
We worked with SRM Construction on the site where 15 affordable homes, made up of eight two bedroom and seven three-bedroom homes, have been handed over.
Our customer Jennet Mkandawire has moved into one of the homes at the development. She said she will be living there with her children after being in temporary accommodation.
She said: “I am very happy with the house and it’s just perfect with the right size of rooms including bedrooms.
“I like the feel of my new home – I love the kitchen/diner layout and garden space.
“The tech in the property and air source heat pump is something new for me, but I’m looking forward to using it and seeing the difference it makes. I think the development is a job well done with great space and parking.”
Some of the benefits of having an air source heat pump include, reducing energy use and improving your carbon footprint.
Director of Sales and Programme Delivery Michael Park said: “Having energy efficient homes for our customers is so important and it’s brilliant to see our homes at Cheltenham Croft built with Air Source Heat Pumps.
“It’s fantastic to hear the feedback from Jennet about her new home and that she is looking forward to seeing the difference the air source heat pumps and app make.
“At Citizen we are working to reduce our carbon footprint and are committed to making sure our homes are safe, comfortable and sustainable for our customers.”
