ExtraCare donate foodbank items for customers living at Gateway

Customers living at our supported housing in Coventry will be given foodbank items thanks to ExtraCare Charitable Trust.
The donation was given to Gateway, our schemes which support people and families who have found themselves homeless, and the food will be used over the festive period.
Colleagues and partners at ExtraCare were invited to donate much-needed essentials, including toiletries, tinned goods, cereal, long-life milk and sauces.
The collection ran up to 19 December, with colleagues donating what they could to help those most in need.
Peter Gill, Director of Housing Care and Support at Citizen, said: “Thank you so much to ExtraCare for the food donation – we are so grateful for the generous gift and our customers will really appreciate it.
“Customers living at Gateway have previously found themselves homeless and this food will help to give an extra boost over the festive season at a time when there is a focus on happy times and celebrations.
Angela Carpenter, Executive Director of Governance and Compliance for ExtraCare, who is also a Board member chairing our Remuneration Committee at Citizen, dropped off the donations at Gateway on Friday 19 December.
She said: “Partnering with Citizen on this food bank donation initiative has been very rewarding. Many people experience real hardship especially at this time of year. By coming together, we’re able to support families or individuals who rely on these vital services. It has been a great example of our shared commitment to giving back and making a positive difference in our local community.”
