Industrial action update
Last week, we let you know that some Citizen colleagues would be going on strike on Monday 28 October. The strike is planned to take place on Mondays and Fridays for a period of five consecutive weeks.
Delivering for our customers remains our absolute priority. Most of our services are completely unaffected and we’re continuing to deliver most of our services as usual.
The majority of our team have still been working. There have been some reports in the media on how many of our colleagues were on strike. We want to clarify that the actual number of colleagues confirmed on strike was under 100, which is less than 10% of our Citizen team.
We are doing everything possible to maintain services and minimise any disruption. For most of our services it’s business as usual. Here’s a quick overview:
- Repairs: emergency and routine repairs are our priority. Non-urgent repairs will be scheduled as usual, though times may vary slightly.
- Safety checks – no impact: our contractors responsible for boiler repairs, gas servicing, and electrical inspections will continue to operate as normal – these services remain unaffected.
- Kitchen and bathrooms – no impact: the fitting of new kitchens, bathrooms and other home improvements are unaffected – please keep your appointment as scheduled.
- Cleaning in communal areas – no impact: we expect cleaning to carry on as usual.
We remain dedicated to providing services, listening and acting on customer feedback. Delivering the very best service is a key priority for us. We recognise there’s more we need to do, and we won’t stop focusing on that. Our commitment to get even better at what we do is not impacted by the strike action.
If you have any questions, our customer experience team are available as usual on 0300 790 6555.
We’ll update this page if there are any new updates.
