Colleagues worked together to make a difference in our latest Tidy Friday in Worcester.

Dozens of people rolled up their sleeves on the Blackpole estate to:

  • Clear three skips of rubbish and two caged vehicles with bulk waste
  • Litter pick across the estate
  • Remove dumped items like settees, cement, rubble and sand bags from in communal walkways
  • Weed and remove rubbish from garages and entry ways
  • Plant flowers and cut back overgrown plants
  • Sweep and tidy communal areas

Our Head of Estates and Services Elly Dix said: “It was fantastic to have colleagues from a wide range of departments working side by side.

“Special thanks to our Estates team who co-ordinated the event and played a huge role in making it a success. We were also joined by Worcester City Council, who supported the clean-up and Councillor Ed Kimberley, whose ward includes the Blackpole estate.

“He shared updates from the day on his own social media, helping spread the word about the positive impact we made together.

“We also had support with the planting from Creative Gardens.

“A big thank you to everyone involved for your hard work - it really was a team effort.”

The next Tidy Friday will take place in Coventry on 20 March so keep your eyes peeled on how to get involved closer to the date!
