Wyken, Coventry

We’re redeveloping two sites in Wyken and demolishing two tower blocks to make way for up 63 modern, affordable homes.

Where: Coventry

Number of homes: 63

We’re redeveloping Wyken in Coventry as part of our regeneration projects across the West Midlands, by demolishing two tower blocks and building 63 new, modern and affordable homes in their place.

We completed the demolition of Vincent Wyles House, a tower block with 144 flats in May 2025, and in Winter 2025 we will being the demolition of William Malcolm House, which has 112 flats.

Why we’re regenerating Wyken

In 2019, we consulted with the community on what their priorities were and what they would like to see improve in the area. The overwhelming response was to demolish the tower blocks and redevelop the site with modern energy efficient homes.

We ran a consultation in February 2025, where we told residents our plans to build new homes and submitted a planning application in July 2025. We’re now waiting for a planning decision from Coventry City Council, which we expect in October 2025.
