We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) because we want everyone to feel they belong, are included, and are valued and respected – whether that’s our customers, colleagues, Board members, volunteers, contractors or managing agents.

 

For us, EDI isn’t an add-on. It’s at the heart of how we create safe, affordable and inclusive homes and workplaces for all.

Workplaces that prioritise wellbeing

We’re committed ensuring our employees are given everything they need to reach their full potential while feeling valued as part of a team, so we offer a supportive, inclusive working environment where EDI and wellbeing is a priority.
To support this goal, we offer a number of groups and initiatives, including:
  • a parenting network
  • a menopause group
  • staff Consultative Forum
  • a Belonging and Inclusion forum
  • a Leadership Academy, talent programmes and Learning Bites
  • inclusive recruitment processes

Communities that celebrate difference

We want every customer to enjoy the very best of our services, whoever they are. That’s why we’re building communities that celebrate difference and treat everyone fairly.

 

To support this, we work with two customer-led groups:

  • Customer Assurance Committee

  • Customer Scrutiny Panel

 

And within Citizen, our Customer Engagement Team helps make sure customer voices are heard and acted on.

We’re improving our EDI practices

We’re working with the Housing Diversity Network (HDN) to review our current EDI practice within the organisation. Together with their help, we’ll be identifying opportunities for improvement, building on our years of good practice, and refreshing how we deliver our EDI practices.
