Potters Close transformed with new parking and safer community space

Garages that had fallen into poor condition and were no longer fit for use have been demolished, creating a safer, more welcoming space for customers and the wider community.

The site had experienced long-standing issues with vandalism, anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping and limited parking.

By opening up the area, customers can now park closer to their homes, helping to reduce on-street parking and improve safety for pedestrians.

Our Director of Asset Management, Bridget Guilfoyle, said: "We're committed to investing in our neighbourhoods and making sure our outdoor spaces are safe, attractive and work for the people who live there.

"The garages at Potters Close had reached the end of their life and were attracting problems such as vandalism, fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour. By transforming the site into additional parking, we've created a space that better meets the needs of residents while making the area safer and more welcoming.

The improvements at Potters Close are part of our wider programme to improve garage sites across our communities.

We’re now in the second year of a planned programme of garage refurbishments and improvements, helping to ensure these spaces continue to meet the needs of our customers and local neighbourhoods.
