If you’re considering a mutual exchange, first check your tenancy agreement to confirm whether you’re eligible to swap. If you are, you’ll need to fill in an application form and get our approval.
Remember: It’s essential to check the type of tenancy the other person has, as this is the tenancy you will take on. Some tenancies offer more rights, while others may have fewer rights.
Once you have been approved, you can start looking for someone to exchange with on the HomeSwapper website, which is the UK’s leading mutual exchange website. Once everything has been approved, you can connect with other people also looking to swap their homes.
Once you’ve found a home you’re interested in, you’ll have to arrange a viewing. If you decide to go ahead, you and the other tenant will need to complete the relevant application forms and submit them to us.
Once both applications are in, we’ll arrange to visit your home to check it’s in good condition. If you're swapping with someone from another landlord, we’ll also exchange references with them.
