We’re launching a new graduate programme to help shape the future of housing
Date published: 19.10.26
We’re looking for five graduates to join our new Graduate Programme in January 2027, offering the chance to gain valuable experience, develop professional skills and help make a difference to people’s lives.
Delivered in partnership with the GEM Programme, the two-year programme is designed to develop the next generation of housing professionals and future leaders.
There are five graduate opportunities available across Citizen:
- Building Safety Coordinator Graduate
- Customer Experience and Digital Innovation Graduate
- Development Graduate
- Housing Graduate
- Property Assistant Graduate
Building skills and experience
The programme combines hands-on experience in a real role with structured learning and development. Graduates will learn from experienced housing professionals, receive support from a workplace mentor and work towards a CIH Level 4 professional qualification.
They will also take part in six immersive learning events, known as GEM Shacks, exploring key housing challenges and leadership themes.
The aim is to help graduates build their confidence, develop their skills and understand how they can make a positive difference to communities.
A career that can grow with you
Katie Finch, Citizen’s Director of Assurance and Business Services, began her career at Citizen as a graduate 17 years ago. Her journey shows the opportunities that can open up through the programme.
Katie said: “I’m genuinely delighted that we’re launching the Citizen Graduate Programme. Starting my own career as a graduate at Citizen gave me an incredible foundation, helping me learn from experienced colleagues, build confidence, take on new challenges and develop professionally.
Start your career with Citizen
The programme is an opportunity for graduates to build their experience, learn from colleagues and lay the foundations for a rewarding career in housing.
If you’re ambitious, keen to learn and want to help improve people’s lives, we’d love to hear from you.
Applications are now open and close on 25 October 2026.
Find out more about the opportunities and apply through the GEM Programme website.
