We are seeking an experienced and driven Asbestos Manager to lead our organisation’s approach to asbestos compliance, safety, and risk management. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring full adherence to regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in asbestos management systems, processes, and service delivery.

We are looking for someone who is approachable and relatable, with a strong team-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively across the organisation, building positive relationships and supporting colleagues to achieve shared compliance and safety goals.

Position: Asbestos Manager

Salary: £56,385

Location: 4040 Lakeside, Birmingham, B37 7YN (covering Coventry, Birmingham, Hereford & Worcester)

Basis: Permanent, 37 hours (Hybrid working)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Duty Holder for asbestos compliance, ensuring adherence to Regulation 4 of CAR 2012.
  • Lead and maintain asbestos management plans, policies, registers, and compliance frameworks in line with legislation.
  • Oversee asbestos data systems and IT tools to support effective risk management, reporting, and service delivery.
  • Plan and manage all asbestos-related works, including surveys, inspections, repairs, and emergency responses.
  • Provide expert advice and collaborate across teams and stakeholders to ensure safe and compliant asbestos practices.
  • Manage budgets, procurement, performance, customer engagement, and complaints within the asbestos service area.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience working within building safety in a similar role and organisation, for a minimum of 5 years
  • Strong knowledge in Asbestos Management and building/fire safety
  • A recognised qualification in the management of asbestos such as; BOHS P405 management of asbestos in buildings or equivalent building safety industry qualification
  • Full UK Driving License
