Position: Asset Surveyor

Salary: £45,074

Location: Birmingham/Hybrid (travel covering Coventry, Birmingham, Hereford & Worcester)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake Part 35 compliant disrepair reports.
  • Adhere to legal disrepair protocol at all times.
  • Produce work specifications and arrange for remedial works to be undertaken.
  • Carry out inspections on site of materials and workmanship to verify compliance with the contract specification and that any variations are valid.
  • Carry out post inspections of all works arranged.
  • Identify HHSRS hazards in domestic properties, ensure hazards are reported promptly, and arrange any repairs or specialist surveys required.
  • Identify emergency repairs, such as damp and mould as defined under Awaab’s Law, ensuring they are reported and progressed in accordance with the required timescales.
  • Provide basic advice to residents on correct use of the home including simple repairs the resident may be responsible for.
  • Assist other areas of the Assets team, including undertaking surveys of buildings for structural defects, fire damage, property purchase reports, and investment projects.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Knowledge of construction, housing disrepair and building pathology.
  • Experience of developing specifications of work and providing effective solutions to meet the customer’s requirements.
  • Experience of managing Health and Safety, relating to recognised hazards within all types of social housing.
  • Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates.
  • Knowledge of Planning and Building Regulations and the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Experience of managing Health and Safety, relating to recognised hazards within all types of social housing.
  • Attainment of a recognised qualification in a built environment related subject.
  • Full UK driving licence to enable you to travel across areas where Citizen operates.
