St Annes Cropped

A group of talented pupils from St Anne’s Primary School are helping make Willenhall a cleaner, greener place, with their artwork now taking centre stage on local litter bins.

As part of our regular community clean-ups pupils were invited to design posters encouraging people to keep Willenhall litter free.

The winning designs will now be displayed on Coventry City Council litter bins, helping spread their important message across the community.

Every poster entered into the competition is also being displayed at the Haggard Centre, celebrating the creativity and commitment of all the pupils who took part.

“It's inspiring to see pupils from St Anne's leading the way. I grew up in this community and went to St Anne's myself, so it makes me incredibly proud to see children getting involved. Their posters remind us to look after where we live, take pride in our area, and work together.” Vicki, Engagement Officer at Citizen
“The quality of the entries was fantastic. The posters were so colourful, detailed and creative that choosing the winners was incredibly difficult. It was wonderful to see the children getting involved in something that will have a lasting impact on their community. Looking after our neighbourhoods starts with simple things, like putting rubbish in the bin and taking pride in the place we all share.” Elly, Head of Estates, Citizen

Rachel Batson, Headteacher at St Anne’s Primary School, said:

“A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Citizen for giving our children the opportunity to be part of this wonderful collaboration. Creating posters to encourage our community to keep Willenhall tidy has inspired them to take pride in their local area and shown them that even small actions can make a big difference. We are grateful for the chance to help build a cleaner, greener Willenhall together.”

This project is one of many ways we’re working with local people, schools and partners to create neighbourhoods that everyone can be proud of. Through practical action like our community clean-up events and the creativity of local children, we’re helping build cleaner, greener communities together.
