Work starts to build new supported housing scheme for families in Coventry

We’re working in partnership with Markey Construction and Coventry City Council to deliver the new development at Faseman Avenue.

Once complete, the scheme will replace Frank Walsh House, our current temporary supported housing scheme for families in Hillfields.

The new development will provide 50 homes, giving six more families a place to stay compared to the 44 homes currently available at Frank Walsh House.

The new scheme has been designed to provide high-quality accommodation that better meets the needs of families while helping them move forward with their lives.

Our Director of Sales and Programme Delivery, Michael Park, said: “It's fantastic to see work begin on this important development in Coventry.

"When completed, the new Faseman House will provide warm, modern and energy-efficient homes for 50 families who have experienced homelessness.

"We know how important it is for families to have a safe place to call home, and this development will provide accommodation that is much better suited to their needs.

“We’re committed to investing in new homes, regeneration and renewal which is why we’re working with organisations like Markey Construction and Coventry City Council on developments like this.

The new scheme is being built on the site of a former Coventry City Council community services centre.

Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities at Coventry City Council, Naeem Akhtar, added: “This development is an important project because it provides better standards of homes for families at a vulnerable time in their lives. The building work is progressing well and this is another encouraging step in helping us find housing solutions for residents in our city.”

Frank Walsh House will continue to operate until the new development is ready, helping to ensure families continue to receive support throughout the transition.
